Our Top Five Favourite South East Queensland Wedding Venues
Congratulations! I’ve personally found no more exciting time in my life than just after getting engaged. Your world feels full of possibilities as you daydream about the kind of wedding you’d love to have. Whether you’re like me and have been dreaming of this day since you were a little girl, or you’re just looking forward to marrying the person of your dreams, choosing the right venue is undoubtedly one of the most important decisions you’ll make.
When choosing a venue, naturally you have to consider the classic who, what, when, where and why of the day. Are you looking for something easy and close to home? Or something that has a destination element to it? Who and how many people are coming? Whether you’d like a big bash or something small and intimate, it’s important to choose a venue that’s appropriate for the amount of people you’re planning to have attend. Are you planning to invite children? Do any of your guests have additional needs that may make this venue unsuitable for them? Will your venue be “in-season”? (a beach wedding in the middle of winter may not be a great idea…). While there is so much to consider, it’s also important to take a moment to reflect on what’s most important to you, the one who is getting married; it’s your day after all! When starting that initial Google search for wedding venues it can be really hard to know what’s out there, what’s good and where everyone is finding these beautiful venues! Through my own endless searches, I’ve put together a list of five that are some of my favourites. There are so many wonderful venues that I couldn’t include them all, but I think this will give you a great head start if you’re looking for something with WOW factor.
Gabbinbar Homestead
Nestled within 13 acres of magnificent, established gardens, Gabbinbar Homestead is located in Toowoomba, about 1.5hrs from Brisbane. The ideal venue for a romantic, fairy tale style wedding, Gabbinbar has multiple options for ceremony and reception locations within the grounds. I could go on for days about all the things I love about this venue but I’ll let you discover more about it yourself through their Instagram, here. What I will say though is that the service, food and attention to detail is second to none at Gabbinbar.
Karoomba
If you want to really impress your guests with your ceremony, Karoomba is the place to do it. Truly a photographer’s dream, the grand wooden open-air chapel, set amongst the fields of lavender, is certainly something that will be remembered for years to come. See more of this stunning location, here.
The Bower Estate
A little more rustic and nature focused, The Bower Estate exudes relaxed luxury. A perfect choice for a couple who want to have a fun filled, relaxed yet elegant party for their nearest and dearest. A modern, chic choice of location with endless photo opportunities on the vast grounds. See more of The Bower Estate, here.
Maleny Manor
Exuding old world elegance with a modern edge, Maleny Manor is at the top of a lot of people’s lists, for good reason! Maleny Manor is another location with multiple ceremony and reception options within the one location so you can really bring your vision to life, exactly how you want it. The Valley Estate
Last but certainly not least is The Valley Estate! The newest wedding venue to hit the Gold Coast, the Valley Estate has already hosted some spectacular weddings! With a gorgeous chapel and extremely elegant and grand reception location, it’s hard to think of anything this place doesn’t offer! See more of The Valley Estate, here.
As I’ve been writing this article, I’ve thought of so many other venues that I’d love to share with you, so perhaps there will be a part two coming soon. I hope this has helped you find your own little slice of heaven for your big day.
